She was his mate, his one and only love but she had to remain back, letting him doing the needed job to make sure their children would have a future in which they could grow up without the terrors and pains of the past. She sighed... already aware of the temporary physical loss.

He would be careful, not risking anything, she knew that and he always came back to her.
He left his former dog tags as a pawn, a symbol of their common experience and their love. Filled with memories of the hunt for Saren, the commander's death and the reunion against all obstacles after being recovered by Cerberus. A symbol of eternal love.

And it didn't last long after he joined his loved Normandy until she received a first message from her mate:

Try to hurry to be back soon.

She grabbed the dogs tag, watching the alliance frigate leaving the station's orbit, softly whispering:

"I will... I will always wait for you...."
